Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helps healing quickly I am so happy my local Tractor Supply recommended this product for my duck. My duck got attacked by another duck and was in really bad condition. The biggest problem we had was his eye was really swollen and appeared to be infected. I used this product a total of 4 times because by the third time of applying it the swelling went down and his eye looked healed!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well I have used this several times for cats and kittens over several years, it has always resolved their eye issues (conjunctivitis is very common in cats). It is a solution of hypochlorous acid 0.01% which is almost impossible to read on the label and not stated on the site. This is the same medication used in OTC products for humans which cost 4x as much and sometimes go up to 0.02% hypochlorous acid. The label states that it is good for ALL animals. Go by the expiration date, it stops working when it is too old. Value depends on where you get it, price varies widely.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product although rather watery The Ophthalmic gel has in fact been helpful in clearing the "good" from my Golden Retriever Sammy's eyes, and I am very pleased about that. I do find the top of the bottle somewhat hit-or-miss as far as dispensing the product, and often it is very watery and messy. Still, a good product all in all. I do think that the shipping fee was very high, especially when delivery took over a week. Most companies do much better with fees and shipping speed. I would probably buy this product elsewhere if I were to need it again, for that reason.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I believe this is the only product I could use My rescue Aussie has allergies and her eyes bother her so much that she runs down the hallway rubbing them on the wall. She is extremely resistant to any kind of medical treatment. If she can smell it - she snaps at it. Due to the fact that Vetericyn is practically odorless, I am able to apply it to her eyes, and it seems like she feels relief immediately. I use Vetericyn products on any minor wounds on both our dogs. It definitely helps to speed up the healing process and seems to soothe and keep them from licking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a charm Our cat has allergies that make her eyes itchy and runny. For years, I've had to make treks to the vet for eye ointment, which is an unpleasant experience for the cat since she's terrified of anything outside the house. We'd get there, spend money for a vet visit and for the ointment, get home and then have to repeat the whole thing months later. With this, no trips anywhere and it works like a charm. I wish I'd known about this stuff years ago.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vetericyn eye gel works! My 8 year old JRT actually sits still and let's me apply this to her eyes because it immediately makes them feel and look better. I have been using it on her for a couple of years, when her allergies make her eyes runny and irritated. I highly recommend it for dogs.

My dog has discharge in her eye and it tends to build up. It is often hard for her to keep her eye open. Would this product work well for her?

Asked by: LeslieG75
Hello LeslieG75, Our Ophthalmic Gel will definitely help. We would recommend starting with our Eye Wash product to really flush out the eye and then following up with our Ophthalmic Gel so then if there are any scratches on the cornea the gel can work as a protective shield. Please let us know if you have any further questions. We are always happy to help!

My 14 y/o dog has eye ulcers, given drops from vet to treat. After 1 week not much better. Guessing as she sleeps the eye is getting crusty & sealing shut then tearing any healing when she opens it? Would this protect better? Maybe keep lubricated better?

Asked by: Nibbles
I often use the ophthalmic gel at night to help lubricate the eye. I also flush the eye with the eye wash daily before applying other medication. Dr Mindy Melinda J Mayfield DVM, WCSP-AH Vetericyn Technical Services Veterinarian

I have a mare with white eyeliner and one eye is always red crusty and waters and gets goopy. I have been using an ointment but is so hard to get in her eye because it is so tender. Would the eye gel help it and any suggestions on best/easy way to apply.

Asked by: Justice
Hello Justice, and thank you for your interest in our Vetericyn + product line. We offer an eye wash and an ophthalmic gel for eye care. The eye care would be best used for flushing, cleaning the eye, helps to alleviate irritation, and promote healing. Both of our eye care products mentioned are in droppers and should make it easy to apply. These products, whichever you choose, will need to applied 2 to 3 times daily. If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to ask.
